To align with our AI-integrated operating model, our interview process will assess AI fluency, curiosity, and measurable/impactful workflow integration.

Where we work
Our Bengaluru office allows our employees to collaborate with teammates and offer special onsite events, lunches, and more.

This position is hybrid (2 days per week, currently Monday & Tuesday subject to change based on business need) and will be located in our Bengaluru office.

Overview

LegalZoom’s People & Places team is seeking a People Operations & Office Administration Lead to serve as a high-judgment operational people leader in our Bengaluru office. This role is a hybrid function that blends core HR partnership and local site operations/office support. The person in this role will help deliver a positive employee experience and excel in communication, professionalism, relationship building, and trust. The ideal candidate will execute day-to-day HR operations with rigor, actively listen, empathetically coach managers through routine people matters, partner across centralized People functions, and exercise a high degree of ownership and accountability. They will proactively apply AI-enabled tools to streamline HR workflows, reduce manual effort, and synthesize data to create capacity for strategic people work.

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys staying close to the day-to-day, “rolls up their sleeves” to solve practical problems with the business, and drives consistent execution across people processes, employee experience, and workplace coordination. This role will play an important part in helping foster trust, transparency, and local connection during a period of organizational evolution and AI-enabled transformation.

This role reports to a US-based HRBP Director (with a dotted line to the local Site Leader) and partners closely with centralized People & Places teams and business leaders to support the Bengaluru site.

You will

  • As the senior HR voice on the ground in India, you'll bring LegalZoom's Operating Values to life — every day, with every leader and employee.

  • Oversee site operations, including vendor management, facilities coordination, supplies, and local event support to ensure smooth day-to-day workplace operations.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for low- to mid-complexity employee HR related questions/concerns, conduct intake, document issues, and escalate sensitive or higher-risk issues to centralized Employee Relations and the HRBP Director as needed.

  • Coach managers through routine people matters, performance conversations, policy application, and accountability expectations.

  • Proactively identify process gaps and redesign workflows, leveraging AI and technology to improve operational effectiveness, cycle time, and quality across People Operations and Office Administration.

  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and connected employee experience through building strong relationships with the site leadership, listening to employees, and supporting local communications, engagement activities, and change execution.

  • Reinforce transparency, consistency, and trust during periods of organizational change.

  • Proactively identify and redesign manual People Operations and Office Administration workflows using AI and technology to improve cycle time, quality, and operational rigor across the Bengaluru site.

  • Support local communications, engagement activities, change execution, and employee experience moments in partnership with cross-functional People teams and site business leaders.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Occasional travel may be required.

You have

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 6+ years in People Operations, HR Generalist, or HRBP roles in a scaling international organization.

  • Expertise in office administration and management, with a track record of streamlining site operations.

  • High operational rigor and bias-for-action to execute HR processes accurately with limited oversight.

  • Strong Employee Relations (ER) judgment, including risk assessment, proper documentation, and working knowledge of Indian employment law (including POSH).

  • Proven manager coaching skills and the ability to influence without direct authority across centralized People functions.

  • Demonstrated ability to routinely leverage AI to drive operational efficiency, balanced with strong human judgment.

  • Working knowledge of India's employment practices and compliance expectations, including POSH coordination, confidentiality, and documentation requirements.

  • Ability to balance people operations, employee experience, and site operations in a dynamic, hybrid workplace environment.

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive conversations with professionalism and discretion.
